Emmy Awards 2022, i vincitori: le conferme di Succession e Ted Lasso, Squid Game fa la Storia

Previsioni ampiamente rispettate per i vincitori degli Emmy Awards 2022, all’insegna soprattutto delle riconferme rispetto all’anno scorso. Basta dare un’occhiata alle categorie principali, in cui c’è stato poco da fare per gli avversari delle serie tv che dominavano i pronostici della vigilia.

Succession si riprende così lo scettro di Miglior Serie Drama, portandosi però a casa anche il premio per il Miglior attore non protagonista (Matthew Macfadyen). “È una grande settimana per le successioni”, ha commentato sul palco il creatore della serie Jesse Armstrong, riferendosi alla nomina di Re Carlo III. “Abbiamo ricevuto più voti noi di lui. Non voglio dire che siamo più legittimati di lui in questa posizione. Lasciamo che lo dicano gli altri”.

Ted Lasso, invece, si conferma per il secondo anno consecutivo Migliore Comedy; alla serie di Apple Tv+ sono andati in tutto, nel corso della serata, tre statuette, tra cui anche quella per il Miglior Attore Comedy (Jason Sudeikis) e non protagonista (Brett Goldstein). “È una serie sul bene e sul male, sulla verità e sulla bugia e su come reagiamo a tutto questo”, è stato il commento di Sudeikis.

Tre premi anche per The White Lotus che, oltre a dominare come Migliore serie limitata o antologica, vince anche nelle categorie dedicate ai Migliori attori non protagonisti, grazie a Murray Bartlett e Jennifer Coolidge. È stata una delle serie ad essere premiate per la prima volta a salire sul palco, così come Abbott Elementary: la comedy della Abc ha vinto come Miglior attrice non protagonista Comedy (Sheryl Lee Ralph), ma anche come Miglior sceneggiatura Comedy (Quinta Brunson, che della serie è anche creatrice e protagonista).

Ci sono, poi, i premi che hanno fatto la Storia: Lee Jung-jae e Lee You-mi diventano i primi attori a vincere un premio per una serie in lingua straniera, ovvero Squid Game, mentre Zendaya conferma il suo record di attrice più giovane ad aver ricevuto il premio come Miglior Attrice Drama. Infine, termine un’era, quella di Ru Paul’s Drage Race come Miglior Competition Show, che dopo quattro anni va ad un nuovo programma, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Girrls. Ru Paul è comunque salito sul palco, per ricevere il premio come Miglior Conduttore Tv.
