Il Saturday Night Live si aggiudica cinque premi tecnici degli Emmy Awards. Bene Game of Thrones, True Detective, Cosmo e Sherlock che trionfano in quattro categorie.
Durante la serata evento che si è tenuta al Nokia Theater di Los Angeles sono stati annunciati i vincitori dei Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2014, i premi tecnici che precedono di una settimana i sessantaseiesimi Primetime Emmy (che TvBlog seguirà live domenica 24 agosto).
I riconoscimenti più attesi, quelli dedicati alle guest star delle serie tv, sono andati a Joe Morton per Scandal (Miglior guest maschile di una serie drammatica), Allison Janney per Masters of Sex (Miglior guest femminile di una serie drammatica), Jimmy Fallon per Saturday Night Live (Miglior guest maschile di una comedy) e Uzo Aduba per Orange is the new black (Miglior guest femminile di una comedy). Jane Lynch si porta a casa il premio come miglior conduttrice di un reality per Hollywood Game Night.
Tra i programmi Saturday Night Live con 5 premi supera Game of Thrones (migliori effetti speciali, migliore direzione artistica per una serie fantasy, migliori costumi per una serie e migliore make up protesico), Sherlock, True Detective (miglior design dei titoli, miglior casting di una serie drammatica, migliore make up per una serie single camera) e Cosmos: Odissea nello spazio che vincono in quattro categorie. Bene anche Orange is the New Black (che si aggiudica il premio per il miglior casting di una comedy) e I Simpson, che si portano a casa tre riconoscimenti.
