Critics’ Choice Awards, nomination: domina HBO con Game of Thrones e Westworld, bene The Crown e American Crime Story
Critics’ Choice Awards le nomination delle serie tv domina HBO, tra le serie drammatiche anche Stranger Things e This is Us. Modern Family e black-ish tra le migliori comedy
Annunciate le nomination dei Critics’ Choice Awards per la nuova stagione televisiva. La Broadcast Television Journalist Association ha annunciato tutte le nomination televisive dei Critics’ Choice Awards, un mese prima della cerimonia di premiazione che sarà trasmessa da A&E il prossimo 11 dicembre. La 22° edizione andrà così in onda lo stesso anno della 21° i cui premi sono stati rivelati lo scorso gennaio. Un’edizione accompagnata dalle polemiche di diversi giornalisti americani che hanno contestato la decisione dell’associazione di dare l’esclusiva a People e Entertainment Weekly e proprio per questo diversi giornalisti hanno abbandonato la giuria.
Lasciamo però da parte le polemiche e entriamo nel merito delle nomination annunciate che vedono HBO dominare le categorie con 22 nomination totali, seguiti da ABC e Netflix con 14 e da FX con 12 guidata dal successo dell’anno American Crime Story: The People Vs. OJ Simpsons. Tra le novità di questa stagione segnaliamo la presenza di The Crown a meno di 15 giorni dal rilascio della serie tra i migliori drama, Westworld, This is Us e Stranger Things, mentre tra le comedy sono presenti Atlanta di FX, Fleabag di Amazon e Baskets (nella categoria migliori attori). Jeffrey Dean Morgan con il suo Negan di The Walking Dead ha ottenuto una nomination come guest star di una serie drammatica. Decisamente meritate le nomination per il sorprendente John Litghow in The Crown e Phoebe Waller-Bridge di Fleabag.
